There are two types of public users on the CarverLink network: users that only use CarverLink as their internet service provider (ISP) and users that use CarverLink internet as well as dark fiber between their facilities, allowing them to eliminate communication lines known as T1’s or their equivalents.
The largest users of the internet on the CarverLink network are the Carver County Schools Consortium (CCSN). The CCSN is a consortium of all the Carver County public and charter schools that CarverLink helped to bring together so that they could purchase internet access as a sole entity for the purpose of reimbursement requests for Federal eRate and State Equity Aid funds. Other high internet volume users include the Carver County Library System, Crown College and Ridgeview Medical. The largest users of dark fiber on the CarverLink network are Carver County, CCSN, Ridgeview Medical, Lakeview Clinics, City of Watertown, City of Waconia and the City of Victoria.
